Big, whimsical hats are synonymous with horse racing, and this weekend at the Kentucky Derby, some of the best will be on show. Once one has purchased tickets to the Kentucky Derby, usually the following immediate thought is, what am I going to wear? But more importantly, I need a hat that's going to make a statement.
My favorite milliner's Christine A. Moore. She's been creating hats professionally for more than twenty years. I own a couple of her masterpieces; I love the attention to detail and the way the hat makes me feel when I wear it.
She is the official milliner for the Breeders’ Cup, the Florida Derby, Official Hat Designer for America's Best Racing, the featured milliner at Keeneland, and the Preakness Stakes.
Not only does she design for Derby, Christine also designs other collections such as, Fall, Spring, Polo, Resort, Bridal and a Men’s Collection called The “Blake Collection”. One of the reasons I love Christine A. Moore Millinery, is for their fine finishing work and attention to detail. Each hat is individually made with great care in NYC. Christine also designs one-of-a-kind hats for those wanting something extra unique. What I also love about CAM Hats, is that she has many styles, so if you don't want something over-the-top, Christine also offers something more traditional. The collection also boats a unique line of fascinators.
Also, a big congratulations to Christine A. Moore Millinery for the prestigious title of this year's official milliner for the Iroquois Steeplechase. Some of her collection can be found at Gus Mayer right here in Nashville.
